Week 6 – Sixth location: NISI Raches
As incredible as it sounds, our Modern Odyssey adventure has reached its final destination: Nisi Glamping. With a wonderful view of the blue sea right in front of them, our volunteers will help the founders with their project of expanding the camp and reaching a larger portion of the local community (and beyond).
Located in Raches, a port village in Central Greece, Nisi is both a glamping and an educational center, reflecting a philosophy rooted in respect for the environment, community, and connection with nature, Events are held on a daily basis in the camping: these range from cultural nights, workshops, arts and crafts activities, concerts, and food festivals. One of the main goals behind the creation of such a space was to revitalize the village of Raches and create an open space for both visitors and locals to exchange knowledge and learn from each other. The venue also helps its guests reconnect with nature and sustainability through the presence of vast green areas, the use of natural building and upcycling techniques in the construction of the various infrastructures, and the cultivation of fresh and healthy food in the garden.
Nisi frequently hosts groups of volunteers from all around the world, who come and help with the maintenance of the place and the organization of events. Our Modern Odyssey team is very excited to join this community for their last week of project and look forward to contributing and help the founders with the expansion of their project.
