Modern Odyssey | Volunteering Team
Week 3 – Third location: Hopeland
After a weekend spent discovering ancient Greek ruins and stunning beaches, our team has reached their final destination for this week: Hopeland!
Hopeland is a non-formal educational community, focusing on environment, tradition, culture, and personal development. Located in a 7.6 acre property in the area of Argolida, in the Northeastern side of Peloponnese, Hopeland promotes methods based on sustainability and self-sufficiency. Some of its main activities include natural building, natural farming, gardening, and recycling, all while respecting nature and minimizing the ecological footprint. The community hosts a set of permanent residents, long-term volunteers, and groups joining for a shorter period of time. Together they strive for the promotion of communitary values and an ecologically-conscious lifestyle.
Hopeland’s mission is to create a space where people can free their creativity and find a safe space to express themselves through participating in workshops and in reflection activities. This week, our Modern Odyssey volunteers will be actively involved both in the daily routines of the community and in these creative spaces, ready to discover more about Hopeland and its community.
