Modern Odyssey | Volunteering Team
Week 2 – The Crossroads Megalopoli: A bright sunshine

Time is flying by so fast that the second week of Modern Odyssey has already come to an end! The days in Crossroads brought new knowledge, connections, and adventures in the beautiful green urban villa of Megalopoli and its surroundings.

The hands-on team worked together with Crossroads residents to complete the plastering of a new building, which will serve as a storage in the near future. The volunteers discovered new natural building techniques, while creating the mixture and actively participating in the plastering of the storage. The marketing and social media team focused on the creation of content and on the development of a documentary, aimed at showing the experience of Modern Odyssey to broader audiences. They conducted interviews with some of the volunteers, who shared their experiences and motivations behind the decision of joining this unique project. A flexible working routine allowed our team to explore multiple locations around Megalopoli, including waterfalls and picturesque villages, and to participate in workshops and reflection activities, such as Qigong meditation.

The Crossroads Megalopoli’s hospitality allowed our volunteers to explore and discover a unique kind of ecoproject, one situated in an urban villa and in direct contact with the town surrounding it. The team is now moving to their third community, excited to meet new people and get to know yet another different way of eco-living and sustainability.
