STEP | Supporting Dancers Through Career Transitions
From June 15th to 17th, the STEP project partners came together in Athens for the first offline consortium meeting of the project.
Over three days, we focused on the research currently taking place with professional dancers across the four partner countries. Together, we:
• Shared updates and findings from each national research team.
• Discussed the challenges dancers face when transitioning into a new profession after their performing careers.
• Identified common needs and priorities that will guide the next stages of the project.
These discussions are helping shape the development of a framework and curriculum designed to support dancers in planning and managing their career transitions.
We were also delighted to welcome Nikos Moschis, representative of the Greek National Ballet Union, whose contribution brought valuable perspectives on the realities of the profession and the support dancers need for their future careers.
As the research phase continues, we are looking forward to turning these findings into practical tools that can support performers across Europe in navigating their next professional chapter.
