STEP: Support Transition & Empower Performers | Supporting Dancers in Career Transition and Development
We are beyond excited to kick off our new project focused on transforming the future of professional dancers and redefining career life after the stage. This initiative brings together inspiring professionals from across Europe to collaborate and explore bold, innovative solutions to the professional precarity and early retirement challenges faced by artists in physically demanding careers.
Over the next 30 months, we will:
• Support dancers in identifying and valuing their artistic, technical, and transferable skills.
• Connect performers with tailored upskilling pathways, mentoring networks, and alternative career opportunities while they are still active.
• Equip career counselors and mentors with knowledge and tools to better support artists in transition.
• Strengthen recognition and structured support for dancers working in physically demanding careers across Europe.
