Wider Horizon is a 2-month volunteering programme offering young people a first experience abroad in a group setting. It is designed for those who are re-evaluating their direction in life and want to explore new possibilities. Olde Vechte has been a living, working, and learning space since 2006, offering education outside formal systems. Volunteers engage in daily hands-on activities such as maintaining the venue, cooking for groups, supporting events, and contributing to local initiatives, while having space to develop their own ideas. Accommodation, food, insurance, and pocket money are covered.

• Offer a first international volunteering experience in a safe group setting
• Support personal reflection and life direction for young people
• Encourage learning through practical, hands-on activities
• Foster independence and initiative in a new environment
• Promote inclusion by involving participants with fewer opportunities
• Support the daily functioning and development of the hosting venue

• 18–30 years old
• EU citizens or eligible countries with visa-free Schengen access
• Young people from rural areas, minority backgrounds, or facing social/economic challenges
• Those experiencing burnout, health struggles, or life transitions
• Motivated to join group living and practical work
• Open to international experience and self-development
