The project takes place in Drenthe, a rural yet lively region in the Netherlands. Volunteers will stay in Emmen and work in Dalen at Cherry International Foundation's headquarters. Participants will be involved in various tasks, including planning, organising, and promoting workshops for locals, social media management, and maintaining the Cherry garden with its animals. Housing will be shared, with each volunteer having their own room, and bicycles provided for local transport.

• Support local communities through volunteering and workshops
• Develop communication skills through social media, newsletter and admin tasks
• Gain practical experience working with people and animals
• Promote active preparations, initiative and responsibility
• Engage with Dutch culture, language and rural life
• Contribute to the visibility of Cherry’s work through content creation and storytelling

• 18 - 30 years old
• Motivated, proactive, and open to rural living.
• Experience or interest in social media, blogging, website content, or office tasks.
• Come with alternative solutions for a problem.
• Are open to cultural differences and even in case of cultural shock, willing to give it another shot.
• Are willing to realise practical work or to learn about it.
• Are willing to cooperate and work with the Dutch community.
• Speak and understand basic English (diploma is not necessary).
• Willing to work with animals, and respect their behavior.
• Aware that a bicycle will be the means of transportation no matter the weather, even at -20 degrees (tricycle is also an option).
​• Have a driving license could be handy. Not mandatory though.
