Practicalities include shared accommodation, monthly public transport ticket and/or bicycle, monthly allowance (approx. 520€), food and pocket money, German language classes, mentorship, and participation in on-arrival and mid-term training. A “month of orientation” in September supports volunteers in settling in before the official start of activities in October. Working time is approximately 30–35 hours per week.
• Promote intercultural learning and European values among children and young people.
• Support local youth work, education, sports and social inclusion initiatives.
• Encourage active citizenship and mobility opportunities within Europe.
• Foster personal development, independence, communication and social skills of volunteers.
• Strengthen cooperation between local organisations and international volunteers.
• 18–30 years old and registered in the European Solidarity Corps portal.
• Responsible, proactive and able to work independently.
• Interested in working with children and young people in educational or social settings.
• Open to intercultural environments and different nationalities, cultures and religions.
• Specific placements may require particular skills (e.g. Spanish mother tongue for some kindergartens, basic German for certain placements, professional/semi-professional table tennis player for the sports club).
