Week 6 – Pole pole is a state of mind !Â
Gongo Village – TanzaniaÂ
Week six had us leveling up once again — this time perfecting our makuti skills (that’s the traditional coconut leaf roofing, by the way) and diving into the full coconut experience by making oil from scratch with the amazing Gongo mamas. We grated, we soaked, we waited, we boiled, we stirred… and finally, we made coconut magic!
In case you’re wondering — yes, our plants are thriving, our Swahili is improving, and while our football skills still don’t match the Gongo pros, at least we’re out there having fun (and occasionally scoring a goal).
New skills, new memories and one last full week ahead of us!
